Many First Aid trained people worry about the legal consequences of getting involved. At First Responders Ltd we believe in presenting this subject in a realistic way. If we work within national guidelines, and handle people in a respectful way, there should be no legal problems in helping other people.
Andrew Fay, the director of First Responders Ltd, has been involved in First Aid since 1981, and had no contact with the legal system apart from a thank you letter from Surrey police. We believe there has never been a successful lawsuit against a First Aid trained person who acted in the best interest of the casualty, and within their training. We tried to teach people to view the giving of First Aid is a positive thing and encourage people to help others.
